| How I Earn Money as a Homemaker

Even though I consider myself a homemaker, it doesn't mean I don't contribute to our finances! In fact, I'm the main breadwinner (and baker) while my husband is in school. I have a remote job, but I also string together a number of other things to increase our overall income. It's always been our goal to save as much as possible, and with inflation, having these extra sources of income has been a huge blessing.

I think it's important for homemakers to have a way of earning money, even if they don't have full-time jobs. Having these streams of income lets us treat ourselves from time to time, and multiple income streams gives us something to fall back on if we lose a job. So here are some of my favorite sites!

1. Swagbucks Surveys

Believe it or not, I actually pay for all our groceries, household items, and gifts for family with my earnings from online surveys!

One of my favorite sites is Swagbucks. Surveys typically range from $0.50 to $10, but I've also received opportunities for $75-$100 live sessions. We actually received a free vacuum recently in exchange for giving feedback on how we liked it. Swagbucks also has other opportunities to earn, including giveaways, cash back, and offers. You'll also get a $3 signup bonus if you sign up using this link

2. Qmee Surveys

Qmee is another high earner for me, and I've found I can earn the most by checking back throughout the afternoon. Surveys range from $0.20 to $3. I typically earn a couple hundred dollars a month here, which pays for our groceries when I combine it with my next site!

If you're taking surveys, know that some survey sites pay better than others, and certain times of the week (usually Tuesday-Thursday) tend to be better.

3. Ibotta

Ibotta is an app and browser extension that offers cash back on groceries and household items. You just have to download the extension or app and shop for what you need, and it gives you cash back on purchases you've made. I like to look through the week's offers and shop for brands or items that have an offer that week. You can redeem your earnings by requesting a PayPal payment or a gift card. I've gotten a lot of groceries and household items that have been essentially free because I've received 100% cash back! If you sign up with this link, you'll get a bonus.

4. Website Usability Testing

While website testing isn't for everyone, if you're comfortable sharing your thoughts out loud, website usability testing lets you give your opinion on how much you like the client's website or website pages. My favorites are Intellizoom and User Testing, both of which pay through PayPal.

Intellizoom sends invitations via email, and I've had the best luck when I'm able to accept a test as soon as I receive the email. I keep my email tab up all day so I can see any tests coming in. Intellizoom has short $5 surveys where you don't have to record yourself. The ones that require recording pay $8 each and usually take 5-15 minutes at most.

User Testing's studies can vary in length, but many that I've done have taken me 10 minutes or less. Most studies pay $10, but some shorter ones pay $4, and you could also qualify for a longer, live session for $60-$90. You can find new studies in your dashboard, and it's a good idea to check it throughout the day as well.
